Proper bike "FIT" is the foundation for all of our client relationships.  Each fit is performed by a SICI Certified Fit Technician.  The most important part of fitting you to your current or new bicycle is to understand that the more harmonious your fit is with your equipment, the better you will feel and perform.  There is a synergistic relationship between where your fit "is" and how that fit is absorbed into the equipment that you ride.  This is why we start with a comprehensive fit for all new bicycles.  The beginning is the best time to assess any fit issues.  Our goal in this process is to understand how your body works, so we can recommend the appropriate equipment that will give you the desired results for which you strive.  Yes, it takes more time.  Yes, it does require more effort on our part.  But we know this is the correct path to ensure that you will make the best possible decision.

New Bike Fits

Our objective with a new bicycle fit is to present the customer reasonable options to optimize his/her diverse set of requirements, capabilities, expectations and constraints. Each cyclist has a unique set of body dimensions, flexibility, movement constraints, weight factors and cycling capabilities. He/she also has a unique set of riding and performance requirements. These factors create unique bicycle and personal expectations for the bicycle and its riding characteristics. Of course, this is tempered by budget constraints.

Buying a bicycle is basically composed of four synergistic pieces. The first, and foremost, is the frame and fork. They are analogous to the foundation and floor plan of a house. If the frame and fork really meet your needs, all of the other elements can be changed without seriously altering the structural foundation of the bicycle. Second, are the components, and third, the wheels selection. Last, and where many spend too much time, are the other parts like stems, handlebars, tape, seat posts, seats, pedals, etc. Keep in mind that each of these four categories has many possibilities for each item within the category.

After assessing your unique body capabilities, talking to you about riding and performance requirements, your expectations and your budget requirements, our fit technician will prepare and present you one or more alternatives to consider. Buying the correct bicycle is a lot more than stand over clearance, top and seat tube length, component selection and color. If it is done properly, it is a deliberate and systematic evaluation of the cyclist’s physical, mental and financial variables that the cyclist often doesn’t consciously think about.
