Pro Peloton is a boutique, high-end bicycle shop focused on providing professionally built custom and semi-custom bikes to our customers. It is our objective to make a living working in a sport we dearly love. The owners, Chris, Rob and Lionel, and our great staff are all passionate cyclists.
The popularity of high-end road bicycles has grown considerably over the past eight to ten years. Just a few years ago there were only a handful of well-trained and experienced professional bike shops that specialized in delivering the road bike experience. With most of the bicycle industry experiencing slow sales growth, many bikes shops are adding “high-end” road bikes hoping to solve their product selection and sales problems. It is our belief that stocking “high-end” bikes for sale does not make a “high-end” shop. A “high-end” shop is the result of having the right passion, knowledge, experience and business model focused on delivering and supporting the “high-end” bicycle experience.
Several shops have set up so called “high-end” areas, departments and/or sales staff. At Pro Peloton “high-end, custom, professional bikes” are serious words that are the cornerstone of our business. These terms inspire us to deliver the best possible professional bicycle experience to each of our customers. While others sell a few “high-end or custom bikes” each year, we sell 10 to 20 professional bikes each month. Fitting, selling, building and delivering individualized, custom, high-end bikes are what we do – and we think we do it better than anyone else.
The words “custom” and “fit” are used rather loosely today. The fact is a bicycle shop has a tremendous impact on the final custom or professional product. We interpret the broad strokes laid out by the client, fill in the details, and synthesize the facts with the client’s goals and objectives. After all, each custom bike depends upon our knowledge and experience with fit, design, materials, colors, components, assembly, reliability and how well we match them to the client's needs and desires. This process is analogous to several cooks starting with premium and amazing ingredients, but only the great chefs can delivery a perfect, unforgettable meal.
There are a lot of wonderful, cutting edge materials entering the market every day. It is our job to maximize the effectiveness of these products with our client's specific capabilities. An improperly fitting carbon fiber bike is not a great bike – it is wasted opportunity for the athlete to reach his maximum potential. We are asked to perform many fits for cyclists with bicycles where it is clear there was a better choice and solution. In order to provide the right answers, the shop must have the staff with the right knowledge, experience and desire to ask the right questions. The correct answers are not cookie cutter, but built on the foundation of knowledge and experience. Our skill is an art form, not a simple check list.
